This is the official website of the Free Poetry Traverse City movement founded by Rowan Schultz. What we do is go around the downtown area of Traverse City and find a good public place to set up. We usually take a typewriter and a stack of small sheets of paper, along with a sign that says simply, Free Poems or Free Poetry. This way we can attract people and type a poem for them that is given on a physical sheet of paper instead of a digital method. This is a great way to use a typewriter if you have one, and give a person a nice piece of writing to brighten their day.
